Atlan[1] was born in Paris, his mother was a social worker and his father was a doctor and the drummer of the music band Mose.

At the age of 8, he started studying solfège and piano at the Francis Poulenc conservatory.[2] His training lasted eight years. He released his first electronic album on UK label Cyclo under the name of "School",[3] a duo which he took up with Stéphane Bejean-Lebenson. The title track, "Ain't no Love"[4] was remixed by Larry Heard in 1999.

In 1999 Atlan opened his first label, Lafessé records,[5] starting to produce house music under the name of Stan de Mareuil.

In 2000, he started his "The Supermen Lovers" project in tribute to the Johnny Guitar Watson track "Superman Lover". After the release of "Marathon Man,"[6] released on his own label, Atlan composed Starlight. Mani Hoffman joined him on this project, singing and co-writing its lyrics with Atlan. Backing vocals were provided by Onili. The track contains a sample of "East Coast – The Rock" composed by Charlie Wallert.[7]

The "Starlight" success was immediate and Atlan signed his first album, The Player[8] on BMG in 2001. "Starlight" was charted number 2 in France and in the U.K.[9][10] and was a big success in several countries such as Belgium, Australia, Germany, Spain, and Italy.[11][12][13]

The album The Player contained several tracks which have become classics tracks of electronic music ("Family Business," "Hard Stuff," "Diamonds for Her," and "Dance with You").[14][15] Thanks to The Player, Atlan entered the exclusive artistic scene called French House.

After several EP's, launched between 2001 and 2004,[16][17][18][19] his second album "Boys in The Wood"[20] album was released at the end of 2004. This album essentially contained club music, exemplified by the tracks Rebirth, The Howling Session, and The Mission.

In 2008, Atlan met Rick Bailey[21] of the band Delegation. Rick asked Atlan to produce a new version of the hit track "You & I."[22]

After this meeting with Rick, Atlan decided to work on a new album, where he invited a lot of mythological stars of 80s funk like Rick Bailey (Delegation) and Norma Jean Wright from Chic. In collaboration with La Tebwa records, his third album, "Between The Ages" was launched in November 2011.[23][24] European critics' reaction has been positive for "Say No More," "C'est Bon," and "Take a Chance" tracks,[25][26][27][28][29][30][31] but it was also a success in clubs. The tracks were remixed by big artists such as Todd Edwards, Chloe and Aka Aka.

In January 2011, Atlan started lives of "The Supermen Lovers" by taking it more analogic, mixing synthesizers, guitars, sequencers and brass ensemble[32][33] He was also asked to remix great names of the European electronic scene like Jupiter, Andy, Spiller or S'Express.

In 2013, Guillaume decided to create a new label: Word Up Records on which he released 2 New EPs: "Absolute Disco EP" (2016[34]), "Walking on the moon EP" (2017)[35], & "Clock Sucker EP (2018)"[36] as a start to his new album. This new label is the opportunity to sign and release some new artists such as Entschuldigung, Roommates, Neumodel, Fell Reis, Natty Fensie and others.[relevant? – discuss][37]
